Enrichment Week

9 - 13 July 2018


Year 7 -  PGL Liddington (Sunday 8th – Weds 11th July.  Leaving on Sunday at around 2.30pm and then arriving back on the 11th at approx. 3pm), 1 day Team Building Event, 1 day Charity Walk - Presentation and Charity Walk Presentation * updated info to follow soon

Year 8 - will be opting for paid day trips, in school activities or a 3-day MOJO active day camp in Almondsbury - see letter 16th January 2019

Year 9 - will be taking part in the Isle of Wight residential trip or a 3-day MOJO active day camp in Almondsbury, or in school activities which will be published nearer the time.  Presentation

Year 10 - will be undertaking Work Experience.


Enrichment Week is fast approaching and we are putting the finishing touches to the weeks activities.  For your information please find attached a breakdown of all the residential and day time trips, including

School start and finish times, clothing and lunch requirements.  PLEASE CHECK THE START TIME OF EACH ACTIVITY AS THIS YEAR STUDENTS ARE NOT EXPECTED IN SCHOOL UNTIL THEIR TRIP IS DEPARTING. Don't forget that PGL Liddington for Year 7 departs on SUNDAY 8th JULY at 2.30pm so please arrive no later than 2.15pm.

Please note that packed lunches and drinks are required unless students are taking part in the Airhop sessions where Pizza is provided (they may need extra drinks or snacks).  If your child is in receipt of free school meals then a packed lunch will be provided for them.

If your child is taking part in In-School activities normal start and finish time for school applies (i.e. 8.25am and 2.35pm).  School uniform or PE kit should be worn for all in school activities.  The activities your child has chosen and the arrangements for these are displayed in school opposite the main school office, please ask your son/daughter to familiarise themselves with their choices for the week.

Cardiff International Pool (Flumes & Ice Skating)

BE IN SCHOOL BY 8.15, coach leaves at 8.30am

Coaches leave Cardiff at 3pm so we expect students to be back in school by 4pm


Swimming kit, towel & £1 coin for the lockers.  Comfortable clothing for Ice Skating.


Packed lunch & Drinks required.

Charity Walk Clevedon to Portishead

Coaches leave at 8am or 8.30am depending on your group and return at 3pm or 3.30pm

Students will be advised of their group nearer the time


Comfortable weather appropriate clothing for walking, hat, sun cream and sensible comfortable walking boots, trainers.


Packed lunch and plenty of drinks in a backpack.

Go-Karting and Laser Tag



Return to BSCS  at 2:35pm approx. (traffic dependent)

Suitable and appropriate comfortable clothing.

Packed lunch or money for food.

Horse-riding & Horse care

Be in school by 9am, return by 3pm

Comfortable clothing, wellies or boots with a small heel 1” max.  – Please do not wear footwear with a large tread on the bottom as this can hurt the ponies.  Joggers or leggings are advisable as jeans are really uncomfortable to ride in.  Riding hats are provided

Packed lunch and drinks are required

Isle of Wight

Students will be need to be in school by 9.45am, coaches will depart at 10am

Return ferry docks at 3.30pm, we are expecting a return time to BSCS of approx. 7pm traffic permitting

Suitable comfortable clothing for outdoor pursuits.  Bedding is provided by the Centre. More info will be given at the information evening, date TBC

Please add something to your child’s luggage to make it identifiable, i.e. label, or luggage strap to bags to make them easy to identify when unloading from the coach.  Students will be responsible for their own cases/holdalls on the ferry crossing so they must be able to carry/wheel them.

Kayaking & Raft Building

Be in school by 8.45am, coach leaves at 9am.  Return to BSCS by approx. 3pm

Comfortable clothing for outdoors, a change of clothing in a separate bag in case you get wet!

Packed lunch and drinks are required

Matilda – Birmingham Hippodrome

BE IN SCHOOL BY 10.00am (coach leaves at 10.30am)

Return approx. 6.45pm traffic permitting

Suitable weather appropriate comfortable clothing

Packed lunch or money to buy food in Birmingham

Mojo Active



Return to BSCS at 3:00pm approx.. (traffic dependent)

Suitable and appropriate comfortable clothing. Activities are of a practical and adventurous nature! If you wear knee length shorts, bring full length bottoms also. Expect to get wet/muddy!

Sturdy footwear, waterproofs (weather dependant) or sun cream, packed lunch and drinks required.

PGL Liddington

Coaches leave school on SUNDAY 8th July at 2.30pm, please arrive by 2.15pm at the latest.  Coaches will return on Wednesday 11th at  approx. 3pm

White Water Rafting & Ice Skating

Suitable and appropriate comfortable clothing. Change of clothes for Ice Skating, long trousers/joggers advisable

Packed lunch will be required. £1 for a locker and a towel will be needed in case you get wet.
